The Rogue Valley Roses Bulletin for February 1, 2008
Roses for All Reasons and All Seasons
Take an Additional 15% off on Selected Five Gallon Varieties
A foot of snow blankets our hilltop and the valley floor with more still falling, a rare treat in our Zone 8 climate. Trudging out in boots with a broom, I free anything that looks as though it might break. The Hybrid Teas standing rigidly upright, farthest from their briar beginnings, are the most threatened by the newest snow piling on. Huge shrubs, morph into mere mounds along the surface of the snow, demonstrating their flexibility and their ancestry. I am thankful our lows this year have stayed within our zone expectations and extensive trimming of blackened freeze damaged canes is not required.
It looks as though we have another few weeks of bareroot shipping on all five gallons and gallons of appropriate size. This saves about half of the usual cost of shipping. We are accustomed to a warm two weeks somewhere at the beginning of February when the oldtimers plant their early gardens and we prune the roses. This is usually the weather that stops bareroot shipping. But, until then:

Take an Additional 15% off on Selected Five Gallon Varieties
These varieties which are large in their pots, need to find good homes. As you may know, unlike older potted trees and shrubs, large ownroot roses spring to immediate life throwing up new canes when they are planted into the ground. You do not need to fear buying large roses from us. We are very adroit at spiraling long canes into their packages. Roses are bare rooted immediately prior to packaging and roots are kept moist at all times.
On these varieties only, in addition to our "buy 3 five gallons get one free five gallon" offer, we have taken an additional 15% off on any roses ordered from the varieties listed below while supplies last. Click on the variety name to go to see photos and data, including height, disease resistance and Zone hardiness, for that rose. Click on "add to cart" to see how many remain in stock. Our inventory availability is updated online in real time.
Customers in colder zones may request delayed shipping using our standard method of depotting and removing excess soil while maintaining an intact rootball which is then tightly wrapped.
Bareroot Shipping, and our Specials:
Select a free band rose for every 8 roses that you buy or select a free 5 gallon rose for every 10 gallons or 12 bands that you buy.
