The Rogue Valley Roses Bulletin for December 12, 2008

Phase One of Our 2009 Inventory is Now Online

Bareroot Season Begins January 5 for Five Gallons and Selected Gallons

10% Membership Discount Continues

Planning a wedding or other special event next summer? The frequent rebloom of Prosperity, Secret Garden Musk Climber, New Face, Therese Bugnet, Golden Lace and Mme. Lombard make them especially lovely choices, in five gallons, for a spring or summer event. Or do you just want to screen something or have a group of good sized plants in pots near a favorite spot in the garden or patio? Take a look at our entire stock of five gallons by clicking here.

Bareroot shipping begins January 5, upon request, and continues until our plants break dormancy, usually in late February or March. Bareroot plants ship at about half the cost of regular potted plants so this represents significant savings on these big beautiful roses!

We also ship mature gallons bareroot upon request. We will determine which gallons are suitable for bareroot, so please let us know in the final email window, appearing at the very end of the ordering process, whether you want us to go ahead and ship gallons in their pots that we do not deem suitable for the bareroot procedure.

When you order a bareroot plant from us, what you receive is a full sized plant that has not been pruned down to leave short bare cane stubs like grafted bareroots. Our plants are depotted the morning of shipping (unlike grafted bareroots which are often held for extended periods in cold storage). The soil is then washed away from the roots and the roots are wrapped to preserve moisture throughout shipping. Upon receipt, the roots are soaked up to the soil line for several hours or overnight and planted immediately into a pot or the garden, depending upon your climate. Thus you receive a good sized plant with its natural growth habit intact.

We continue to ship roses of all sizes in their pots year round. Delayed shipping is available on any size of pot year round. If you would like bareroot shipping during this time, just send us an email along with your order and let us know. The shipping savings will not show up in your shopping cart. We will check to confirm that the roses you ordered are suitable for bareroot shipping (some of our 1 gallons are not mature enough for this method) and then refund your card for the amount of the shipping savings.

In the same input box, you may let us know if you would like 2 free roses from us that have lost their labels.

If you are a member of the American Rose Society, the Heritage Rose Foundation, or a Heritage Rose Group, you may choose to receive a 10% membership discount on roses that you order in any quantity when you provide us with your membership number and expiration date. This membership discount does not go with any other specials or sales that we offer.
