Cymbeline
Cymbeline is an early David Austin shrub in the color vein of Aschermittwoch (Ash Wednesday). You either like these palest ghostly lavender creations, with more than a hint of buff,---or you don't. I happen to like the dance that goes on in these roses between the buff and the lavender. Some would say the result is neither, but rather dove gray. Ours is young still, but this makes a huge shrub or a climber. If you like this color range and don't like to fuss, Cymbeline and Aschermittwoch are vigorous and easy to grow compared to other famous roses such as The Mouse or Lavender Pinnochio. In any case we are enamoured of the fully double blooms with great fragrance in loose nodding clusters. Arrange canes laterally for more bloom.
