Dragon’s Blood™
Deep rust-mahogany buds unfurl into 15 petaled rust colored blooms with deep splotches of smoky purple-brown overlay on this limited release Paul Barden rose. Its a hard color to describe and even more difficult to photograph, but we think you'll like it. Fans of the coffee roses will certainly enjoy its odd rusty brown hues. The plant is vigorous, lush and a dense grower, eventually building up to a twiggy 5 or 6 feet tall and similar width. It has a somewhat China-like growth habit, so don't prune it hard; it will perform best if you allow it to keep most of its wood from year to year, thinning out older canes when needed. 'Dragon's Blood' blooms in clusters of 3 to 12 blooms and is a fast repeater, often forming new buds immediately behind the previous flowers, so don't be in too much of a hurry to trim off the faded blooms. It appreciates good feeding since it is so quick to rebloom, and it rarely pauses through the Summer.
